Creating a Pecha-Kucha Presentation
From Integrating Education Technology in Teaching
Pecha-Kucha is a neat way to promote 21st century skills. I can attest to this after creating my own video in the Spring of 2020 by using several different technologies and softwares to get it done. Everything from my laptop, tablet, microphone, iMovie, and Youtube were used to get my video to come together. What is even more impressive is that my video came together within a span of several hours, something that could not be done as easily in the late 20th century. Overall, it was a neat way for me to effectively learn to utilize all the 21st century resources I have to create a very unique and fun project.

Captioning Assignment
From Contemporary Issues in Distance Education
I now truly believe that professionals in the field of closed captioning need a pay increase. Completed in the Fall of 2019, shortly after the New York Yankees were eliminated from the ALCS, I chose a video breaking down the Houston Astros sign stealing scandal to caption. Although I only captioned about half of the video, it was a rigorous task nonetheless.

Interactive Video
From Multimedia Design
My career as an Admissions Recruiter has allowed me to become familiar with dual enrollment programs. Completed in the Fall of 2019, I created an interactive video which students in the dual enrollment program at Johnson County Community College could follow. I was able to send this video to students to utilize after it's completion.

Final Quantitative Research Proposal Paper
From Research in Instructional Design & Technology
Affirmative Action in higher education was my topic throughout this course. Completed in the Summer of 2019, I spent my time in the course familiarizing myself with my topic in order to have the best research proposal paper. I learned so much about Affirmative Action and how it impacts students everyday.

Cognitivism & Constructivism Instructional Plan (Group Project)
From Learning Theories in IDT
This was one of the few group projects I worked throughout the IDT program. Completed in the Summer of 2019, myself along with three classmates created a fictitious program utilizing the Aisoy robot. This was a neat learning experience for all involved. We were tasked with incorporating cognitivism and constructivism aspects as well.

Exercise in Life Website
From Designing/Developing Web-Based Instruction
I had a great time building upon this website every week throughout this course. Completed in the Spring of 2019, I created a website for instruction with the focus on fitness. There are several videos, instruction, and evaluations as well. Click on the screenshot to access the site.

Jean Cantero's College Search Service
From Web Design
I had a great time working on my first website in this course. Completed in the Spring of 2019, I created a website for my "company" of assisting high school students in their search for a college to attend. I remember when this course began and how overwhelming the concept of creating a new website from scratch was to me. I have used the internet to for many different reasons and I never put much thought into how much work goes into creating a website. I now have a great appreciation for every web designer that makes the websites I use every day so user friendly. I included an advertisement for my "company".

Instructional Unit & Formative Evaluation Reports
From Instructional Design
Completed in the Fall of 2018, myself along with two classmates worked on a project with a unique target audience of English language learners. The target audience includes adult English as a second language learners, aged between 35-60, with background knowledge of the English alphabet and spelling, math concepts in their native language, and basic computer skills. We created a learning program, complete with real world testing and evaluations.

My Definition of Instructional Design
From Foundations of Instructional Design & Technology
Completed in the Fall of 2018, I was tasked with defining Instructional Design in my own words. My definition is "Instructional Technology is the methods and media used by professional educators to ingrain the learning method for students in an educational setting. Through the methods and medium, an educator can perform teaching techniques that were simply not capable of being done with the media of yesteryear." I have learned so much since then, but my definition today would be similar.

Week 1 Summative Reflection Paper
From Teaching/Learning with Mobile Devices
My very first course in the IDT program was completed in the Summer of 2018. I was a year removed from my undergraduate degree and was becoming familiar with IDT quickly. I have provided my very first assignment, which allows me to reflect on how far I've come.
